FAQ

Straight answers.

If something here doesn’t match the agreement we send you, the agreement wins. These are the defaults we sell on.

Who owns the equipment?

AquaUpgrade. You are paying for treated water and service, not buying a softener. If service ends, we remove our gear.

What is a “loop”?

A short plumbing bypass at the main that lets a softener sit on the house line without cutting you off from water during service. Many OC homes already have one from a previous softener. $475 covers connection when that loop is there. No loop means extra plumbing, quoted first.

Do you bill outdoor watering?

We bill gallons the valve treats. If irrigation is teed off before our system — the usual setup — those gallons never hit our meter. If everything runs through the house line, those gallons are treated and billed. We’ll flag that on the visit.

Is drinking water included?

Yes: kitchen drinking and cooking water targeted under 40 TDS, included in the service — not a separate early-bird gimmick.

Do I buy salt or filters?

No. That’s in the monthly base plus usage. You should not be hauling 40-lb bags unless something is wrong — and then you call us.

Can I cancel?

Month-to-month after install. Give notice, we schedule removal. Connection fee is not a security deposit and is not refunded after a completed install.

What if the meter is wrong?

The valve is the billing meter. If a reading looks off, we compare it to your city usage and inspect the turbine. You are not billed on a guess while that’s open.

Renters?

Yes if the owner approves the connection. The account can stay with the occupant; the equipment still belongs to us.

Is this the same as Culligan rental?

Same category — service instead of a pile of equipment debt — different bill. They typically quote a flat monthly rental. We meter treated gallons so light users aren’t subsidizing heavy ones as much.
