The model

You already pay for water by the gallon. This is the upgrade line.

City water arrives hard and chlorinated. AquaUpgrade sits on the house line, treats what you use indoors, meters it, and bills that usage. The tank in the garage is ours.

1. Confirm the house

We check service area, hardness, and whether a softener loop already exists (the bypass plumbing most homes get when a softener was installed — or pre-plumbed for one). Existing loop: $475 connection. No loop: we quote the extra plumbing before anything is scheduled.

2. Install and turn on monitoring

Whole-home softening and carbon filtration on the incoming line. Kitchen drinking water treated down to low TDS for cooking and glasses. The control valve reports flow so we can bill treated gallons and catch problems remotely.

3. Live with it

Showers feel different the first day. We handle salt, filters, and service. Your bill is $19.50 plus 1.625¢ times the gallons the valve treated that period. Outdoor irrigation on a separate line is not run through the system and is not on our bill.

4. Move or cancel

The equipment stays ours. If you move or end service, we disconnect and take it. You are not selling a used softener on Craigslist.
